One last time...desperately seeking dance partner

When I moved to Sarasota five and a half years ago, I figured it was only a matter of time until I found someone who, like me, was an avid amateur ballroom dancer who liked to work hard and wanted to compete and perform. When -- after a year of networking, listing myself on an Internet dance partner website (completely against my nature) and begging on this very blog -- I still couldn't find someone, I was a little discouraged.

Now, four years later, I'm a lot more discouraged. But I'm going to give it one last shot.

To be clear: What I am looking for is an amateur ballroom dancer (not a professional, i.e. teacher), who is interested in competing on the USA Dance amateur couples circuit, Dancesport category, in the Senior II/III division -- in either American Rhythm/Smooth or Latin/Standard. (I am flexible about style and even open to Argentine Tango, though not exclusively.)  Ideally this would be someone committed to practicing 2-3 times a week, sharing coaching costs and competing once or twice a year.

I am not a beginner and ideally would like to find someone who is also at an intermediate or higher level. I am willing to travel within reason and within the limits of my schedule/time (since I also work full time), which probably means as far as Tampa to the north or Fort Myers to the south. I am willing to try working with someone who is at a lower level, but gifted musically and athletically, or would work hard to bring myself up to the level of someone who is more advanced than I.

If you are a candidate or know someone who might be, you can reach me via email (carrie.seidman@heraldtribune.com), on Facebook (cseidman) or Twitter (@CarrieSeidman). If not, I'd appreciate your sharing this post to expand my reach.

You can be sure I will entertain you will any results of this desperate plea!
