The Manatee Players is taking a new look at the play about how teacher Annie Sullivan (played by Amy Woerner) comes to help a young deaf, blind and mute girl learn to communicate with the world. Giana Bisceglia and Jacqueline Galvano will alternate in the role of Helen Keller. Mark Shoemaker plays the stern Capt. Arthur Keller, and Carrie McQueen plays the girl’s mother.

The production is presented in collaboration with the Lighthouse of Manasota and community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, as part of the theater company’s Action through Acting series.

Performances are Dec. 3-20 in the Kiwanis Studio Theatre in the Manatee Performing Arts Center, 502 3rd Ave., W., Bradenton. Tickets start at $26 with student prices available. For more information: 748-5875; manateeperformingartscenter.com
