Bradenton’s Have, Gun Will Travel doesn’t release its highly-anticipated fifth album, “Science from an Easy Chair,” until July 31. But fans of the nationally-acclaimed Americana band can see the world premiere of its new music video for the song “True Believers” during this week’s edition of Film Fridays at South Florida Museum. HGWT will also screen several of its past videos and play some of its favorite songs, “unplugged,” plus probably a couple of the new ones.

“Science from an Easy Chair,” being released by the Atlanta record label This Is American Music, is based on British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his famed Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition that took place from 1914 to 1916. The album is singer-songwriter Matt Burke’s interpretation of an incredible story of survival and endurance. In addition to HGWT’s own distinctive mix of roots rock instrumentation, the album includes string arrangements and horns. The release, different from any in the band’s decade-long career, commemorates the 100th anniversary of Shackleton’s epic journey. Scroll down for HGWT’s new single “Spirit of Discovery.”

8 p.m. Friday; South Florida Museum, 201 10th St. W., Bradenton; $5; 746-4131; southfloridamuseum.org
