The tourists and part-timers have largely left the area, which means it’s time for the best two weeks for foodies in area: Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week, running from June 1-14.
Now in its tenth year, Savor Sarasota kicks off on Monday, June 1 and runs until June 14. Created by the Visit Sarasota County as a way to draw tourists, particularly day-trippers who live in Florida, to town to try out our local culinary scene during the start of the slower summer season, Savor is also a huge boon to local diners.
At least 50 participating restaurants will offer a three-course lunch menu for $15 and a prix-fixe dinner menu for $29 throughout the two-week event. When you take into account that many of the restaurants have single entrees priced at those levels, Savor can be a great bargain.
It’s a great opportunity to save money at your favorites or, better yet, to try out restaurants that you haven’t sampled before.
