Yeah, you know Jim Breuer as the “Saturday Night Live” cast member who gave us "Goat Boy" and as the costar of the beloved 1998 stoner comedy “Half Baked.” But the former Clearwater resident who used to do open mic nights here at McCurdy's in the late 1980s has shed his stoner image and delivers more family-friendly material these days.

"Being a dad, I’ve got material for the rest of my life," Breuer recently told Boston.com. "Being a son of two elderly parents that have dementia and Alzheimer’s, I’ve got material forever. Being married for 21 years with my lifestyle, I’m set. If I can’t find material, I need to pack it up and throw it in. I’ll never run out of material. That, I’ll never have to worry about."

7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre, 1923 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota; $33; 925-3869; mccurdyscomedy.com
