First Look Video: Animal Kingdom’s Rivers of Light at Walt Disney World

/

This summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will finally open at night, with a limited selection of attractions open and new evening-only entertainment options. The centerpiece of this after dark extravaganza will be Rivers of Light, a water, light, and music show in the newly built Discovery River theater.

Last week Disney showed off about five minutes from Rivers of Light, while at the same time announcing that the show won’t be ready as planned. Instead this summer they’ll be showing “Jungle Book: Alive With Magic,” a different light and water show based on the new Jungle Book blockbuster currently ruling the box office in theaters (it’s fun, go see it on a big screen).

The video below shows the five minutes that are working, and it sure is pretty. Imagine something like this, but with music and images from the Jungle Book, including I’m sure “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You,” and that’s no doubt close to what the limited engagement replacement show will be like.
