Have Gun, Will Travel performs 'The Last Waltz'

Nationally-acclaimed Bradenton band Have Gun, Will Travel along with numerous friends will be performing the landmark “Last Waltz” soundtrack in Ybor City. Released as a triple album by The Band in 1978, it finds the original Americana act joined by a dream team of guests including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters and Emmylou Harris. It should be a thrill to see what HGWT does with all the classic material. Crowbar will show "The Last Waltz" at 7 p.m. and then the live music starts at 9:30 p.m.

Little Manatee River Jam

A bunch of the best local and regional roots musicians will be playing this weekend in Wimauma for community radio station WMNF (88.5)'s annual Little Manatee River Jam. Damon Fowler; Have Gun, Will Travel; and Talk to Mark headline the lengthy lineup Saturday while Friday there will be performances, too.

Creedence Clearwater Revisited

For the past two decades former Creedence Clearwater Revival members Stu Cook (bass) and Doug Clifford (drums) have been using this slightly altered CCR moniker to profit from the music created by singer, songwriter and guitar great John Fogerty, much to Fogerty’s chagrin.

Rock for a Cause

Following online voting, Shore Dogs, Audiosphere, Jah Movement Reggae Band, Paige Merriman, Doug Burns and South Trail Band are performing for live votes to determine the overall winner in this battle of the bands-style competition. During the day of the event, people vote and the winner receives $1,500 with a $3,500 donation going to a local school’s music education program. There will be vendors and kids’ activities.
