If you’re a fan of classic, guitar-driven rock, here’s the hottest show of the summer. Opener Jeff Beck is a virtuoso whose many honors include being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a member of the pioneering Yardbirds and as a solo act. Beck sounds (and looks) remarkably vibrant these days, leading a band featuring soulful vocalist Jimmy Hall, best known as the lead singer behind Southern rock group Wet Willie and their big hit “Keep on Smilin.’”

ZZ Top, also sounding as tight and potent as ever, will close the double header with a bunch of blues-rock and golden-era MTV hits including “La Grange,” “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.” Coolest thing about Rock and Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top? Same lineup of lead guitarist/lead singer/chief songwriter Billy Gibbons, bassist and co-lead vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard since the trio formed in Texas in 1969. Oh, and, if you’re lucky, Beck might just be joining ZZ Top for an encore.
