Molly Hatchett founding member Dave Hlubek, lead guitarist who wrote/co-wrote "Flirtin' with the Disaster," "Gator Country" and the band's other best known material, is leading the current incarnation of the Southern rock band. Hlubek and company are headed to the Beach Club to perform Thursday, Oct. 2, at the iconic Siesta Key venue better known these days for booking DJs. Molly Hatchet formed in Jacksonville just like the group's heroes, the Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd, albeit about nearly a decade later. In addition to their own tunes,  Molly Hatchet has rocked concertgoers with covers of the Allmans' "Dreams" and Skynyrd's "Free Bird." As of now ticket prices have not been announced but can be reserved by calling 349-6311 or stopping by the Beach Club.
