For the third time in as many weeks Sarasota brewpub Darwin's on 4th (1525 4th St.) is hosting a beer dinner with a Florida craft brewer.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m. the restaurant will put on a dinner featuring beers from Saint Somewhere. (The previous dinners had brews fromĀ Florida Beer Co. and Seventh Sun)
Four of the Tarpon Springs brewery's beers will be paired with four courses from the Peruvian restaurant, which also brews its own award-winning beers.
I don't have more details on the menu but hope to get more info soon. The restaurant usually releases details the day before.
Update: Here's the menu:
1st Course: Tuna Tiradito. Fresh Tuna Sashimi, Ginger Soy Sauce, Slices of Fresh Watermelon. Paired with Crepuscule Saison
2nd Course: Duck Confit. Butternut Squash Ravioli, Truffle Foie Gras Butter Sauce. Paired with Saison Athene
3rd Course: Mirin Roasted Sea Bass. Ragu Mixed Fingerling Potatoes, Fava Beans, Crimini Mushrooms, Shitake Mushrooms, Black Bean Sauce. Paired with Ete Sans Fin
4th Course: Banana Flan. Banana Chutney, Caramelized Bananas, Banana Ice Cream, and Brazil Nut Praline. Paired with Lectio Divinia
The meal costs $40 per person; make reservations by calling (941) 343-2165.
Looks like Saint Somewhere's brewmaster, Bob Sylvester, will be on hand and might bring some treats:
